Josh Beckett: Ace leaves game with ankle sprain

Ace Josh Beckett left today’s Red Sox game in the fourth inning with a sprained ankle.

Beckett exited the game in Toronto with two outs in the frame. He threw a 94 mph fastball to Brett Lawrie, then walked behind the mound. He walked to the dugout “favoring his right leg.”

The righthander was sharp in 3 2/3 scoreless innings. The game went to extras knotted at 0.

The AL East-leading Yankees, meanwhile, beat the Orioles 11-10 in the Bronx.
