Ambience: This crowd-pleaser is a Front Street mainstay with its small, but often sun-drenched patio, and a cozy interior where regulars settle into “their” spots for a pint or two. The Jason George isn’t a particularly traditional pub — “tavern” or “bar” would be a better designation — but offers enough atmosphere (accented by several carefully placed TVs to keep sports fans happy) to keep people coming back for more. If you’re up for a few beers, maybe a couple appetizers and a lazy afternoon on a patio, this is an ideal spot.
Crowd: The Jason George caters to a slightly more mature clientele, roughly 25 to 45 year olds, with the average age skewing a bit older on weekdays when corporate types fill the place for a bite to eat at lunch or an after-work drink.
Dress code: Really none to speak of, just look somewhat respectable and you’ll blend in with the crowd.
Should I dance on the bar? No, in fact, dancing in any form might look a bit odd here.
Will I get lucky? Highly unlikely. The Jason George isn’t much of a date destination, either, but you never know when you might click with someone over a pint of Guinness.
