James Simons, a 72-year-old hedge-funder from East Setauket worth $10.6 billion, landed at
No. 74.

Cablevison and HBO founder Charles F. Dolan, 84, of Oyster Bay and owner of Madison Square Garden and the New York Rangers, made No. 336 with $3.3 billion.

Louis Bacon, a 54-year-old Long Islander with a hedge fund fortune, is worth a cool $1.7 billion at No. 736.

Coming in lowest for Long Islanders was Home Depot co-founder Kenneth Langone, 75, of Sands Point, whose $1.3 billion fortune made the list at No. 938.
