Life in jail for repeat offender

A Mattapan man convicted of shooting an alleged drug dealer and beating a witness was sentenced to life in prison yesterday.

Shaheed Abdullah, also known as Sean Fuller, was accused of shooting a 49-year-old Dorchester man in 2008 after meeting the victims for a drug deal at a housing complex on Hartford Street.

According to reports, Abdullah robbed the dealer at gunpoint for cash, a Rolex watch and five bags of crack cocaine before shooting him and injuring him in the hand and leg.

When the witness who set up the botched drug deal entered the room, Abdullah beat the man in the head with the gun and then fled.

Because Abdullah had previous convictions, prosecutors tried him as a habitual offender and he received the maximum penalty possible for this armed robbery, according to prosecutors.
