A wardrobe must-have: The jumpsuit

At the Golden Globe Awards, Emma Stone won the red carpet in her Lanvin jumpsuit, combining some perfectly tailored pants and a bejewelled top. Accessorised with a big bow belt and black pumps, the outfit was just as elegant — if not more — as any princess-like dress we saw that evening.

“For the past year designers have had a much more relaxed attitude that caters to the modern woman’s lifestyle,” says Sasha Sarokin, Buying Manager for Net-A-Porter.com.
While fashion houses like Christian Dior, Ralph Lauren and Chloé, all featured a jumpsuit on the catwalk during the Spring/Summer 2015 shows, some took the trend into workwear territory with overall-esque interpretations at Emilio Pucci, Derek Lam and Damir Doma.
Whichever style you go for, Sarokin explains that “jumpsuits are a key piece and now considered a staple in every woman’s wardrobe.”
Not only are jumpsuits incredibly comfortable — hence the onesie frenzy — they are also very flattering. “You can wear them throughout the day with smart flats or sneakers and they make a cool alternative to dresses and suits in the evening – wear with killer heels, a statement belt and layered jewellery,” adds the expert.
