If you own a pair of Apple AirPods you know they are very easy to lose or misplace. The thought of losing the tiny Bluetooth earbuds from Apple is highly stressful, especially at $160 a pair.

If you’re someone who craves a more fashionable approach to making sure your AirPods won’t get lost, 22-year-old Gabrielle Reilly created an attachment that turns your AirPods into a stylish pair of earrings.

Reily posted a short video of herself wearing the AirPod earrings to Twitter on January 26 and it has gone viral with more than 3 million views.

Reily told Buzzfeed that she was inspired to turn her AirPods into earrings because she was afraid of losing them and that she bought them because she wanted to make sure there were no wires for her cats to chew on.
“I absolutely refuse to lose them. My cat ate through two pairs of Beats Bluetooth earphones, and all my other earphones, she told Buzzfeed. “So I got the AirPods because there was no wire for her to chew but I still needed something to connect them.”
The idea is simple. It’s a small chain that attaches to one of the AirPods and the other end of the chain has an earring hook. Reilly created a website to sell her Airings and there are a few options you can choose to customize them. Customers can choose a hoop, fish hook or clip-on style of earring and it can come in gold or silver. Buyers can choose from white, grey, black or transparent for the color of the connector.
According to her website, custom orders are limited because she won’t be able to keep track of all the orders and configurations on her own.

If you want a pair of Gabrielle Reilly’s Airings, they will cost you $20.
Reilly’s idea is clever and it will be interesting to see if larger companies pick up on the idea and begin producing their own accessories that transform Apple AirPods into stylish jewelry.
