“I’ve always loved street art, but I wanted to work with someone who spreads good words,” says famed nail artist and JINsoon Nails founder Jin Soon Choi.
The nail guru found just the right partner for her latest collection in artist Chris Riggs. Riggs, known for painting murals that repeat the words “peace and love” in bright colors, was happy to have his work transferred to easy-to-apply nail appliques.
The collection, which hit stores this month, includes four cheery shades (a bold pink, powder blue, poppy orange and soft gray) named Love, Peace, Hope and Grace ($18 each). The price for the DIY nail décor is $12 — a steal, considering his work starts at upwards of $1,000.
Little did the pair know when they started the process months ago how badly the country would need signs of hope. When asked why he chose the words he does for his work, the artist says: “With everything going on in the world, love is the most important thing.”
