Saturday’s snowstorm is causing several delays across the Long Island Rail Road, but one incident caused service in both directions to shut down in Queens.
A non-passenger snow patrol train that clears snow from the tracks struck a car had edged onto the tracks near the Little Neck station on the Port Washington line just after noon, the agency said on Twitter. No injuries were reported, and service was restored about an hour later with residual delays.
Port Washington Branch suspended due to an unauthorized vehicle on the tracks being struck by a non-passenger train at Little Neck Parkway.
