On Friday morning, authorities were called to a car crash where they found a man shot in the head.
The incident took place at the corner of 35thStreet and 37thAvenue in Astoria just before 5 a.m., according to Pix11. When paramedics arrived, they found a victim with a gunshot wound to his head. RELATED:Cab driver shot, killed in the Bronx The victim, a livery driver in his 40s, had stopped to pick up passengers when the shooting occurred, ABC reported. He was hit as he was driving away, causing his Ford Explorer to crash into a pole. He did not appear to be the intended target, sources told the New York Daily News in a related report. The victim was moved in critical condition to Elmhurst Hospital, ABC added.
