Local comedian Rob Potylo — best known for his alter ego Robby Roadsteamer — is suing the local CBS affiliate over a scuttled television series of his.
Last year, Potylo, who is listed as manager, along with Erik Angra, of Quiet Desperation LLC, the plaintiff in this case, met with local representatives from WBZ-TV and WSBK (TV 38) about developing a television show.
Potylo, through the suit, alleges the two sides reached an agreement wherein the internet series “Quiet Desperation” would be developed for TV and broadcast on those two stations.
Potylo alleges a CBS-affiliated sales executive backed out of the agreement citing the “drug content” featured in some of the Quiet Desperation skits that were published online.
That, according to the lawsuit, which was filed in Essex Superior Court, was a breach of contract. Potylo is seeking triple damages, in addition to attorneys’ fees, interest and cost.
Messages left with CBS and WBZ were not immediately returned Sunday
