Governor General Michaëlle Jean announced Tuesday the appointment of 58 members of the Canadian regular and reserve forces to the Order of Military Merit. The recipients will receive their insignia during an investiture ceremony at Rideau Hall this morning.
The Order of Military Merit was created in 1972 to recognize meritorious service and devotion to duty by members of the Canadian Forces. The Order has three levels of membership: Commander, Officer and Member. The ceremony will include the appointment of two commanders, 12 officers and 44 members.
