Report: The two best universities on earth are both on the Red Line

Yep, Harvard is No. 1 and it’s not just boastful conjecture.

According to a recent U.S. News & World Report ranking, it is the top university in the world and you don’t have to go very far to find No. 2.

That would be the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, located mere miles and two Red Line stops away from Harvard on the Cambridge side of the Charles.

The publication considered an array of factors in compiling the list, including global research reputation, regional research reputation, publications, percentage of highly cited papers and number of PhDs awarded per academic staff member, among others.

The report ranked 500 universities across the world.
