Police say a sweatpants-wearing intruder made himself right at home during a crime spree in Maine Thursday afternoon.
The alleged home invader, Todd LeGrand, who investigatorsdescribed as “a heavier white male, wearing only sweatpants,”spent several hours in two seperate apartments, where he cracked open a beer, helped himself to some food and enjoyed a shower before a tenant discovered him, police said.
LeGrand also allegedly released horses from a barn on one of the properties.
“It appears Mr. LeGrand forced his way into two separate apartments where he ate, took a shower and drank several beers from the victim’s refrigerator. Mr. LeGrand spent several hours in the two apartments. He also released several of the horses from the adjacent barn. Mr. LeGrand stole money and other items from the apartments,” Berwick police said on Facebook.
When police arrived, the intruder led them on a brief barefoot chase before arresting him.
Investigators charged LeGrand, 53, of Dover, New Hampshire, with several counts of burglary and theft, police said.
