Man charged after alleged attack on bus driver, senior

Police have laid assault charges after a man allegedly went berserk onboard a city bus and at a bus stop late Tuesday night.

A 67-year-old man waiting at a bus stop near 104 Avenue and 101 Street was injured after he was allegedly attacked by a man shortly before 11:55 p.m., police said.

A man tried to get onboard a bus arriving at the stop during the alleged assault, but he was denied by the driver, police said.

Angry over the refusal, police say the man spat on the driver twice as he physically fought with the driver who was able to hold the man until city cops arrived.

The 67-year-old suffered minor injuries after the fight, while the driver was rushed to hospital for treatment after the alleged melee.

Jarrett Clatence Makokis, 30, was charged with two counts of assault.
