A 45-year-old man was attacked by a trio of robbers inside the elevator of his Lower East Side apartment building earlier this month, police said.

The incident occurred shortly after 11 p.m. on Nov. 23 when the victim and the suspects boarded an elevator inside the building near Henry and Clinton streets.

A surveillance camera captured the terrifying crime, showing the victim surrounded by two male suspects and one female suspect. As he tries to exit the elevator, one of the men puts him in a chokehold and brings him to the ground. The two other suspects then go through his pockets.

When they are finished, they leave the man lying inside the elevator and send him to a higher floor.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at (800) 577-TIPS (8477).
