MANCHESTER, England – Manchester City has added experience to its midfield for the Premier League title run-in by signing Chile international David Pizarro on loan from Roma for the rest of the season.
The 32-year-old Pizarro played under City manager Roberto Mancini when both were at Inter Milan, before joining Roma in 2006.
With Owen Hargreaves struggling to regain full fitness after joining City on a free transfer last summer, Mancini has been looking to add another central midfielder to his squad to cover for Yaya Toure, Gareth Barry and Nigel de Jong.
Pizarro has played just seven times in the league for Roma this season.
Without an English title since 1968, City only leads Manchester United on goal difference after losing 1-0 at Everton on Tuesday.
