Man faces attempted murder charges in alleged domestic dispute

Calgary police have laid attempted charges against a man in relation to an alleged domestic assault incident Sunday night.

Police were called to a domestic assault in the 0-100 block of Beaconsfield Cr. NE to report that a man armed with a knife had repeatedly stabbed a woman. Upon arrival, police found a man choking a woman. They responded by deploying a Taser, and were then able to take the man into custody.

Police believe the officers’ quick actions saved the life of the woman being choked and the other two victims in the house at the time.

Both women in the home, a 24-year-old and a 52-year-old, were taken to hospital in stable condition and a third person, a male, was not injured.

Jeffery Raymond Dajas, 27, of Calgary is charged with two counts of attempted murder, two counts of aggravated assault, two counts of assault with a weapon, possession of a weapon or imitation for a dangerous purpose, and uttering threats.
