Man faces charges after crash

Police have laid numerous charges against a man allegedly responsible for crashing into another vehicle and injuring a woman as he fled from police.

A suspect was allegedly driving erratically along Memorial Drive near the Zoo when police gave chase Tuesday morning, but the suspect sped off. Several minutes later, the officers spotted the collision on Memorial and Deerfoot.

“The officers involved were clearly concerned for the safety of the public and the offender’s actions put the public at risk,” District 4 Insp. Ray Robitaille said, adding there was no pursuit of the suspect.

The 36-year-old victim is recovering from her injuries, police said.

Eric Miller, 37, faces numerous charges including resisting arrest, fleeing police causing bodily harm, impaired driving, hit and run and five counts of being unlawfully at large.
