Kidnapping is among numerous charges that have been laid against a man who allegedly took off in a car with a passenger inside Sunday night.
Police say a man jumped into a vehicle idling outside a bank on 42 St. and 118 Ave. while the driver was using a bank machine just after 8 p.m.
However, the driver’s wife was still inside the vehicle. The suspect drove a few blocks before colliding with a truck at 46 St. and 118 Ave. He then fled the scene, but was later found by a police dog.
Clinton/William Wharry, 36, faces charges of kidnapping, theft under $5,000, possession of
stolen property under $5,000, criminal hit and run, dangerous driving, driving while disqualified and breach of probation.
Police said no one was injured in the incident.
