Man found dead after heading home from bar during blizzard

The search for a missing Hoboken man who was last seen during this weekend’s massive snowstorm has ended after his body was pulled from the Hudson River.

Matthew Genovese, 24, was apparently on his way home from McSwiggan’s Pub at First Street and Bloomfield Avenue in Hoboken between 10:30 and 11:30 p.m. on Saturday when he disappeared, police said. That’s what he told three friends who last saw him before the 10-minute journey to his residence.

After the Bronx native failed to show up to his Wall Street job on Monday, a search began, NBC New York reported.

Police later found his wallet and keys near the river, close to Pier A, according to ABC 7. His body was recovered Tuesday about 50 feet from the shore. There were no signs of foul play, police said.
