Mänland: Does your man need a playplace when you go shopping?

Mänland. No, it’s not the latest Scandinavian gay dance bar in Chelsea. But we’ll give you a hint: Mänland is Scandinavian and there could possibly be some meatballs involved.

It seems as though IKEA has latched on to the truism that men hate to shop. So instead of wives lugging their unappreciative, bored husbands and boyfriends around while pointing out possible shelving units, Ikea stores in Australia have created a safe place for these men, called, yes Mänland, which features foosball and Xbox games, sports on the television, and free food (throw in free beer and it’s honestly a bro’s Shangri-La).

Apparently, the in-store area is modeled off of their toddler area, and wives are given buzzers (like shopping mothers are), reminding them to pick up their men after 30 minutes.

There’s no word yet on if Ikea plans to take Mänland to, well, the mainland. But we can see there being a huge market for it here.
