MAP: Road closures for President Obama’s visit to Boston

President Barack Obama is coming to Boston on Wednesday for various events, which means there will be road closures in certain neighborhoods.

Multiple roads in South Boston will be closed during the evening commute,Boston Police Capt. John Greland posted on Twitter.

The closures include A Street from Melcher Street to West Broadway; West Second Street from B Street to Dorchester Avenue; and West First Street from A Street to Yard Way. There will also be no parking or stopping on West Second Street from B Street to Dorchester Avenue and West First Street from A Street to Haul Road.

Obama will be attending Democratic National Committee event Wednesday evening, including a dinner for supporters at the Artists for Humanity EpiCenter in South Boston. Before that, he will be at a roundtable discussion in Cambridge.

A message left for Cambridge police seeking road closures in that city was not immediately returned.

Earlier on Wednesday, Obama will be joined by Gov. Deval Patrick and other New England governors at Central Connecticut State University to talk about raising the minimum wage. Patrick is scheduled to be there at 2 p.m.
