Mark Wahlberg has come a long way since his days as a rapper and underwear model.

According to Forbes’ 2017 list of the world’s highest-paid actors, the Boston-bred star is now the biggest money maker in Hollywood. Marky Mark edged out his former “Pain & Gain” co-star Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson to take the top spot on this year’s rankings.

Forbes reports that Wahlberg raked in a cool $68 million over the past year thanks to big screen blockbusters like “Transformers: The Last Knight” and “Daddy’s Home.” The Dorchester native has also been making some serious dough with his other ventures, including his family’s A&E reality series “Wahlburgers” as well as starring in commercials for AT&T.

As for last year’s No. 1, Johnson was only $3 million behind Wahlberg with his $65 million payday for 2017. The WWE star turned Hollywood’s most sought after personality brought in the big bucks thanks to his salaries for “Jumanji,” “Baywatch” and HBO’s “Ballers” series, which happens to feature Wahlberg as an executive producer.

Marky Mark isn’t the only Bay Stater to make into onto Forbes’ list, as Matt Damon cracked the top 20, coming in at No. 16. with $21 million. Meanwhile, Sudbury native Chris Evans clocked in at No. 18 with $18 million.
