Mass. Girl, 18, killed in car crash on way to prom

An 18-year-old girl in Fall River was killed on her way to her high school’s prom Friday, after her vehicle rolled over on Route 24.

Hannah Raposo was en route to B.M.C. Durfee High School when she lost control of her Ford Explorer Sport Trac just after 6 p.m., State Police said in a statement.

The vehicle flipped several times near Exit 4 and the young driver was thrown from the truck, Boston.com reported. Another 18-year-old male passenger, also from Fall River, was hospitalized with minor injuries.

Police continue to investigate the crash.

Raposo was named “Youth of the Year” from the local Boys & Girls Club and was scheduled to graduate this year.
