One has a ten-page record of criminal offenses. Another is accused of rape of a child. And yet another is wanted for a violent home invasion.
The men are some of the “Most Wanted” state probationers and are featured on a list released today by the Probation Service department.
“All nine are high-risk offenders who have outstanding warrants. The majority of the offenders have violent histories,” the agency said in a statement.
It’s the first time the agency has issued a statewide Most Wanted list as it tries to track down the violent offenders. The agency is asking for the public’s help in finding these absconders.

The probationers are listed below and their histories are from the Probation Service department.
»John Brine, 41, tops the Most Wanted List for Boston Municipal Court-West Roxbury where he is a fugitive from justice. Brine’s offenses include assault and battery (victim over 60 years old), threatening, possession of a Class B substance, larceny, and identification fraud. Brine is 5 feet 10 inches and weighs 285 pounds. He has brown hair and hazel eyes. Brine’s last known address was Roslindale.
»James Locklear, 54, is wanted by Norfolk Superior Court. Locklear’s offenses include rape of a child and indecent assault and battery. Locklear was convicted of harming the child of a live-in girlfriend. Locklear is 5 feet 8 inches tall, and weighs 150 pounds. He has black hair and brown eyes. His last known address was in Florida.
»Thomas Ballerino, 50, is wanted by Barnstable Superior Court. Ballerino’s offenses include kidnapping, and assault and battery. Ballerino was witnessed kidnapping a former girlfriend whom he dragged by the arm, picked up, and threw in the cab of his truck. He is 6 feet tall, and weighs 230 pounds with hazel eyes. His last known address was in Eastham.
»Samuel Nelson, 23, is wanted for armed robbery and home invasion. Nelson is being sought Suffolk Superior Court. Nelson was convicted of being one of six masked gunmen who kicked the front door off the hinges of a home. The men brandished knives and jabbed at the victims before destroying items in their home and stealing their money. Nelson is 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighs 200 pounds. He has brown hair and brown eyes. Nelson’s last known address was in Dorchester.
»Rubenson Cherilus, 27, is being sought by three different courts. Cherilus is wanted for possession of firearms and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon by South Boston District Court. Middlesex Superior, Suffolk Superior and Somerville District courts are looking for him for two counts of possession to distribute Class B drugs, indecent exposure and failure to stop for police. He is 5 feet 9 inches tall and weighs 185 pounds. Cherilus has brown hair and brown eyes. His last known address was in Somerville.
»Oscar Colon, 31, is wanted for home invasion, armed robbery and witness intimidation by Suffolk Superior Court. He was charged with forcing his way into his victim’s home, placing a gun to her 16-year-old son’s head, demanding money, stating, “If you don’t give me your money, I’ll kill you and your kids.” Colon is 6 feet 3 inches tall and weighs 240 pounds. He has brown hair and brown eyes. Colon’s last known address was in Boston.
»Jose Garcia, 33, is being sought by Hampshire Superior Court. His offenses include armed burglary, armed assault in a dwelling and two counts of armed robbery. Garcia is 5 feet 6 inches tall, has brown hair and brown eyes. His last known address was in Amherst.
»Marcus Parks, 26, is wanted for armed robbery by Hampden Superior Court. He is also wanted for receiving a stolen motor vehicle, operating with a suspended license, refusing to identify himself as the operator of a motor vehicle and speeding by Springfield District Court. He is 5 feet 11 inches tall and weighs 240 pounds. Parks’ last known address was in Springfield.
»Daniel Sullivan, 28, is being sought by Lynn District Court for possession of firearms. Lynn Police found a stash of unlicensed firearms – including a sawed off Remington .2 caliber rifle and a .22 Winchester rifle – at Sullivan’s residence. Police also discovered a loaded .44 magnum gun in the glove compartment of an unregistered and uninsured motor vehicle. Sullivan is 5 feet 11 inches tall and weighs 230 pounds. He has brown hair and brown eyes. His last known address was in Lynn.
