Matsuzaka bounces back for Red Sox

Maybe Daisuke Matsuzaka isn’t finished after all.

The Red Sox’s most enigmatic pitcher tossed a gem in Boston’s 9-1 Patriots Day win over the Toronto Blue Jays at Fenway Park.

Matsuzaka, who had inspired trade talk with his wretched start to the season, threw seven innings of one-hit shutout ball. He walked one and struck out three.

Apparently, all the Red Sox need to get their money’s worth out of Matsuzaka is to play every game against the Blue Jays — managed by former Boston pitching coach John Farrell.

“Farrell is on the other side so I wanted to show solid pitching in front of him,”?Dice-K said through a translator.

The Sox kick off a six-game West Coast swing tonight at Oakland. They’re by the Bay tomorrow, too, before heading to Anaheim for a four-game series against the Angels.
