MBTA Police: Man wanted for South Station B&E

Transit police are looking for a man they say broke into a basement office at South Station and stole cash from a safe.

The theft is alleged to have occurred just before midnight on March 16. After taking his loot, the suspect fled in a cab to Decatur Street in Charlestown, according to police. Police did not specify how much cash was taken or how the alleged thief accessed the safe.

The man is described as a white man, between 40 and 45, about five-foot-six to five-foot-eight in height and thin. At the time of the theft he was wearing a green hooded sweatshirt, blue Red Sox cap and blue jeans.
