Men save women from sex attacks

Two New York men stepped up to help women in trouble, risking their own safety to protect women who were being attacked.

Brian Teichman, a Marine, was dropping his daughter off at day care yesterday in Whitestone, Queens, when he saw a man forcing a woman over a guardrail of the Cross Island Parkway. The 31-year-old veteran, who served five years in Iraq and Afghanistan, said the scene just didn’t look right.

“Once I saw him launch her over the guardrail I knew something was wrong,” he told the New York Post.

He yelled at the man, scaring him off and rescuing the woman.

Police are still searching for the suspect, described as in his 50s, 5 feet 11 inches and 200 pounds with a tan baseball cap.

Also yesterday, Bronx resident Federico Neri told the Post that he heard a woman screaming in the lobby of his building in August. He ran down the stairs to find a man attacking the woman. He pulled him away by his neck and restrained him until the police arrived.

Gerardo Miguel, 27, was charged with burglary.
