Metro Minute at Writers Fest

Who doesn’t like hearing a good story? Open your ears tonight as award-winning writers from around the world read from their new works for the grand opening of the Vancouver International Writers and Readers Festival.

Tonight’s seven-writer lineup includes Vancouver’s Caroline Adderson, B.C.’s Kate Pullinger, who won last year’s Governor General Award, as well as Brit raconteur Andrew O’Hagan, whose entertaining new novel is told from the perspective of Marilyn Monroe’s dog. The show starts at 8:30 p.m. at Performance Works, 1218 Cartwright St. on Granville Island. Tickets are $29.

The Fest runs until Oct. 24 at venues around Granville Island.
