Established in 1886 as the central research station for the federal Department of Agriculture, the Central Experimental Farm makes Canada the only country in the world to have a working farm in the middle of its capital.
While it’s an active research centre and home to Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada headquarters, it’s also a 400-hectare National Historic Site with attractions open to the public throughout the year.
