Metro Minute with didgeridoos

You may have seen the guy who occasionally sits at the corner of King and Simcoe, blowing into that long, cylindrical musical instrument that sort of sounds like a bovine mating ritual. What you’re actually seeing is a didgeridoo; it’s an Australian wind instrument developed by the country’s indigenous population about 1,500 years ago, and it’s quickly replacing the bongos as this millennia’s busking choice par excellence. To see what all the fuss is about, head to Kensington Market’s Pedestrian Sunday this weekend for the first ever didgeridoo gathering. Musician Shane Philip will be on hand to show the kids how it’s really done.
