Metro Minute with Voices of Hope

Today is World AIDS Day. It’s not a celebration, of course, but rather an awareness of the virus that for three decades has ripped through millions of lives around the planet.

But sometimes even solemn awareness needs a joyous soundtrack. Casey House, a specialty hospital that became the first freestanding HIV/AIDS hospice in Canada, hosts its Voices of Hope concert tonight at Metropolitan United Church.

Performers like The Regent Park School of Music, Amber O’Hara and headliners The Nylons will provide a resounding chorus to help call attention to the ongoing stigma and barriers to care faced by the HIV-positive.

Doors open at 6:30. Event is free, but donations encouraged.
