Molotov incident leads to custody

Ottawa police have taken a person into custody after a Molotov cocktail was thrown at the back of a home in Stittsville on Sunday night.

The fire was extinguished by the time police and fire officials arrived at 12 Meadowland Dr. around 10:30 p.m. It caused only minor damage.

The lone occupant of the house, a 70-year-old grandmother, was not injured.

Police believe this is an incident of targeted vandalism.
