Ontario is confirming 85 new cases of influenza A (H1N1), also known as swine flu, bringing the total number of cases in the province to 272.

Health officials say all the cases reported to date, with the exception of two, are considered mild.
Toronto reported 37 new cases, Peel Region had 18, and York Region had 11.

In all, 138 males and 130 females in Ontario have contracted the virus, with information still pending from four other cases.

In other news, a Toronto toddler is the latest person to be diagnosed in Cuba with swine flu. The official Granma newspaper says the unidentified 14-month-old was hospitalized after exhibiting fever and respiratory symptoms following his arrival from Toronto with his parents.
