Scores of firefighters were on hand Wednesday morning to put out a fire that destroyed a Staten Island church, according to published reports.
Fire officials said upwards of 130 firefighters responded to the three-alarm blaze at the House of Miracles church in West Brighton called in at around 2 a.m.

The fire was contained by about 4 a.m., with no other nearby buildings catching aflame.
FDNY reported one firefighter sustained a minor injury and was promptly treated.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation, but NBC New York reported fire officials deemed it “suspicious.”
