Mother of Surrey Six victim files suit

Two years after the death of her son, an innocent victim of the Surrey Six slayings, Eileen Mohan wants to send a message to B.C.’s gangsters: Enough is enough.

“We have to make a stand and say we, the common people, will not tolerate gangsters and drug dealers living among us — especially when they treat our innocent lives without any care,” she said yesterday.

Mohan filed a writ of claim in B.C. civil court Friday and is looking for a lawyer willing to take her case. The writ names Dennis Karbovanec, who pleaded guilty last April to shooting her son, Chris. It also names alleged gangsters Cody Rae Haevischer, Matthew Johnston, Michael Le and James Bacon.
