Mountie faces probe for pot, firearms

An RCMP officer is under investigation for allegedly possessing a small amount of marijuana and a number of firearms.

No charges have been laid.

The constable in question, who’s been a member of the Surrey RCMP for four years, has been suspended with pay. He has not been named.

“The investigation … is ongoing and is being pursued aggressively,” said Chief Supt. Fraser MacRae, head of the Surrey RCMP.

“Any time a police officer is accused of being involved in criminal activity, these allegations are taken seriously.”
