Murder charges upheld against mom accused of killing babies

Murder charges against Erika Murray, the mother accused of killing two babies whose remains were found in her home, are being upheld by a judge, WCVB reported.
Earlier reports from CBS Boston explained that Murray’s lawyer hoped to have the charges against his client dismissed saying that “Murray has mental health issues and that there’s no evidence she caused the babies’ deaths.”
Murray’s lawyer reportedly wanted certain pieces of evidence suppressed and to hire a forensic anthropologist to aid his client’s defense.
Now it seems as though that was all for naught.
“Documents obtained Wednesday show that a Worcester judge has denied the defense’s motion to dismiss the charges, saying that there was evidence that Murray could have caused the death of the babies,” CBS Boston reported via the AP.
Murray, who has pleaded not guilty to the charges, is reportedly due back in court later this month on the 25th.
