Murder shakes family

Family members of Edmonton’s 13th homicide victim, 23-year-old Keith Goddard, are reeling in the wake of his sudden death.

He died early Saturday from fatal injuries after being attacked at a north-end house party.
Police were called to a home at 11903 – 49 St. with a report a man had been attacked. The 23-year-old died later in hospital.

Autopsy results that may reveal more information about how Goddard died have not yet been released.

If he hadn’t returned to a house party, he’d still be alive, his uncle Brad Goddard said.

“I can’t imagine what life is going to be like without him, and to not be able to see him,” Goddard said yesterday.

Goddard added the gathering was thrown by co-workers of his nephew, and that the group worked together.

Funeral arrangements for the slain man had not been made yesterday, as his mother had not identified the young man’s body, Goddard added.

No charges have been laid in connection with his murder, though police are actively investigating and interviewing witnesses.
