Mystery dinner show best for groups

Mysteriously Yours Dinner Theatre

2026 Yonge St.

Ambience: In its 20th year, Mysteriously Yours has been entertaining dinner guests with a varied range of shows — currently the interactive 1940s radio play and mystery Dead Air! The shows are packed with families and large groups of friends, many of whom are celebrating birthdays or anniversaries. While the meal and performance is almost four hours from start to finish, the skilled cast keeps the proceedings moving at a decent pace between dinner courses. They also do their best to get audience members involved in the play, even giving prizes at the end for those able to solve the nightly murder mystery.

Crowd: The family-oriented theme brings out groups composed of parents, kids and relatives, but also office groups looking to build morale or merely have a fun night out. Everybody’s out for a good time and most will readily play along with the actors.

Dress code: It’s no mystery — opt for casual dress and you’ll fit in with the rest of the sleuths in the audience.

Should I dance on the bar? There isn’t any bar to dance on, but you might get called onstage to be part of the show. Isn’t that enough?

Will I get lucky? You might solve the mystery, but that’s about it.

Best accessory: A large group — more people makes the night more fun.

Cocktail du jour: The younger members of the audience obviously opt for soft drinks while adults tend to prefer beer, wine or some of Mysteriously Yours’ signature cocktails.

Hours: Shows and dinners Wednesday (matinee), Thursday, Friday, Saturday.
