What went right …
1 Late charge — The Knicks began the season in Toronto last night, they hope to end it with their first postseason berth since 2004. Amare Stoudemire and Wilson Chandler got them off to a good start, combining for 15 fourth-quarter points to expand what was a two-point game after three.
2 Ray runs the show — Raymond Felton was in complete control of the offense, dishing six assists with just three turnovers. The up-tempo offense took off early, as the Knicks opened up a 16-point lead in the second quarter.
3 New attitude — It was a nice win for the Knicks, who lost all four to Toronto last season.
What went wrong
1 Hurts on the inside — Toronto doesn’t have Chris Bosh anymore, but it still has former No. 1 pick Andrea Bargnani, who dominated the Knicks for 18 points in the first half. Although they held Bargnani in check for four points in the second half, Reggie Evans dominated the boards, bringing down 16 in 33 minutes for the Raptors.
2 No love on the outside — The Knicks stroked it from the line (15-of-17), but they hit just 7 of 24 from beyond the arc. Luckily, though, the Raptors were just as bad, as both Linas Kleiza and Leandro Barbosa missed game-tying 3-pointers in the closing seconds.
