New Jersey man caught with two kilos of cocaine at Logan Airport

A New Jersey man is scheduled to be arraigned in East Boston District Court today after he allegedly tried to smuggle two kilograms of cocaine through Logan Airport.

According to police reports, Carlos Lanns, 24, was arrested just after 7 p.m. on Monday when he arrived at Logan International Airport on a JetBlue flight.

Following a joint investigation involving US Customs and Border Protection, troopers and customs officers found two kilograms of cocaine hidden inside the insoles of various pairs of shoes in Lanns’ checked luggage.

Police say Lanns was held overnight on $25,000 cash bail.
