New river, improved theatre to come

As the city’s 20-year plan for Hastings Park slowly comes to fruition, numerous new attractions are set to reshape the historic site.

Perhaps the most dramatic change will be a nearly one-kilometre “daylighted stream” that will snake across the park, connecting the Burrard Inlet to the park pond.

Other changes include giving the PNE’s open-air Amphitheatre a permanent roof and constructing a new community centre in Hastings Community Park.
