Reports swirled yesterday the U.S. may bring terror-suspected al-Qaida member Majid Khan from Guantanamo Bay to face trial in Brooklyn.
The decision to hold the so-called “9/11 trial” of Khalid Sheikh Mohammed and four others in Manhattan has raised some concerns about local security. A U.S. Justice Department spokesman said yesterday officials had not finalized the locations of any trials.
Khan, a one-time Baltimore resident, allegedly met with Khalid Sheikh Mohammed and was in contact with Iyman Faris, who later pleaded guilty to a plot to destroy the Brooklyn Bridge.
