Authorities have charged a Brownsville teen with attempted murder in connection to the brutal beating of a Coney Island teen last week.

Sabrina Agard-Forde, 18, was arrested for her role in the assault on 17-year-old Ta-jae Warner, according to police — and although she was initially charged with felony and misdemeanor assault, charges were increased to attempted murder and assault.

On April 1 at about 11:20 p.m. police found Warner unconscious and unresponsive lying on the street with bruising on her face, authorities said. A preliminary investigation shows that the 17-year-old had allegedly been struck on the face by Agard-Forde causing her to hit her head on the pavement and lose consciousness.

Warner was taken to NYU Hospital where, on April 3, she died, according to police.

According to the New York Daily News, Warner had been heading to the store with her 11-year-old brother when a group of four attackers — two boys and two girls — began to bother the young boy. Warner then defended her younger brother and the group then made a comment before assaulting her.

Warner was declared brain dead at the hospital as a result of injuries sustained that night and her family decided to remove her from life support.

The family has started a GoFundMe campaign in order to fund the teen’s funeral, medical expenses and to help family members attend funeral services.

As of Thursday morning, the campaign garnered over $5,000.

The three other suspects involved in the incident are still being sought.

According to PIX11 New York, during a gathering at a makeshift memorial at the young girl’s apartment building, her father, Arthur Warner, called on the other suspects to give themselves up.

“The one that [the police] do have in custody will sing,” he reportedly said. “She’s going to sing her tune.”
