That same day Caruth’s 61-year-old father, William Caruth, was reportedly charged with second-degree murder and manslaughter in her death. According to the Daily News, an autopsy found his daughter was both strangled and bashed in the head. A financial-related dispute reportedly could be a motive behind the murder.

“She was a loving person who holds no grudge against nobody,” friend Julia McCall, told NBC. “She was a wonderful, wonderful person, the best friend I ever had.”

McCall, who said Caruth ran a day care, added that her pregnant friend was supposed to find out the gender of her baby Wednesday.

“She was very excited,” McCall told NBC. “It’s her first child, she even had a name picked out.”
