A man’s remains were discovered on Saturday afternoon near the CSX railroad tracks in the Elmhurst section of Queens.
The gruesome finding was made when police responded to a call from a 36-year-old man who was collecting cans in the vicinity before stumbling upon a torn bag that contained a skull. Upon further inspection, officers uncovered more bags in the area containing body parts, which were later confirmed by the Medical Examiner’s office to belong to a 30-year-old white male. An investigation into the brutal homicide and the victim’s identity are ongoing, as the NYPD has released a composite sketch of the deceased.
