Watch the hit-and-run that led to three NYPD officers’ suspensions

An NYPD lieutenant and two detectives were allegedly involved in a hit-and-run that has led to all three being suspended and a hair salon with $80,000 in damages.

Detectives Christopher Corulla and Frank Muirhead, along with Lt. Vincent Molinini, were allegedly in a car driven by Corulla when he drove through the Hair-Do or Dye Salon storefront in Staten Island after the trio left a nearby bar, the New York Daily News reported.

“There’s not much to say here,” an NYPD source said to the Daily News. “There’s nothing good about what happened.”

The officers were allegedly celebrating Molinini’s new promotion and raise at Rookies Sports Bar in Staten Island last Friday before the incident occurred around 9 p.m., the Daily News added. The hit-and-run took place as they were trying to leave when Corulla said that he accidentally drove in reverse and into the hair salon.

Crystal MacNair, Hair-Do or Dye’s owner, toldABCthat she still cannot clean up the tire tracks and some of the other damage left by the vehicle.

“We’ve only been open not even a year yet, so that’s really what was more upsetting. My floors are damaged, my walls are damaged. I have stylists that are out. Eight stations were damaged – the stylists’ stations, two makeup stations. My reception area was down,” MacNair was quoted by ABC.
