The Winnipeg Jets visit the Boston Bruins tonight at 7 p.m. ET at TD Garden. This will be the first of two meetings between the teams this season.
The Bruins are in the midst of a tight Eastern Conference race. With 59 points, they are seventh in the East and just four points back of the second seed. However, they are also just five points ahead of the 10th seed.
Tonight’s contest against the Jets will be Boston’s first game since the All-Star break. Forward, David Pastrnak competed in his first NHL All-Star Skills Competition over the weekend and won the shot accuracy contest in 11.309 seconds.
Boston is a much better home team than they are on the road. The Bruins have a 17-7-1 record on home ice and are just .500 on the road.
The Jets are 31-16-2 with 64 points and are third in the Western Conference. They are also in a tight playoff race themselves; there is just a three-point differential between seeds Nos. 2-through-5.
Winnipeg is coming off a 3-1 loss this past Monday to Philadelphia in their first game back since the All-Star break. Center Jack Roslovic scored the only goal for the Jets in the contest which brings his season total to just three goals.
