They got their big break in 2001 with the release of Silver Side Up.
Since then, post-grunge rockers Nickelback have sold an astonishing 50 million records. Here and Now, which was released this week, is their seventh studio album.
“On Here and Now, there’s something for everyone, from really aggressive rock to more melodious pop,” the band’s front man and singer Chad Kroeger tells Metro.
After the release of their last album in 2008, the band went on a two-year-tour. Since then they have reloaded and recorded a new album in their own studio in Vancouver.
“Right now we’re in the honeymoon phase — the fans still haven’t heard the album so we can
still enjoy it all to ourselves. As soon as it’s released it will be a different thing.”
Guitarist Ryan Peake says the band is planning to include countries they haven’t played in for a long time on their new tour.
“We could do our usual route, but we are keen to give something back to fans who haven’t seen us for many years,” says Ryan Peake.
